It’s something which we naturally give to those we care about, those close to us, and in many cases to many others who deserve or need or benefit from our compassion.
But life is also busy, and sometimes that means we forget to give compassion to the most important person of all…
It’s not selfish or self-indulgent to give ourselves compassion – quite the opposite, it is essential! For how can we hope to give compassion to others when we ourselves have none?
So in this meditation, we spend 5 minutes to focus on giving ourselves some much-needed and well-deserved self-compassion.

These days there is an increasing awareness of the benefits of meditation and other mindfulness practises for all, including for those in business. No longer is meditation seen “for the hippies”, many seasoned business professionals recognise its benefits and actively practise mindfulness.
To help like-minded people connect, I run a fortnightly online networking meeting called “Morning Mindfulness”. It runs every second Tuesday, 8am – 9:30am, as part of 4Networking. The meetings are fun, friendly, and open to everyone.
You can find out more details by popping along to 4N and searching for Morning Mindfulness. If you are not already a 4N member then you are more than welcome to come along and sample a meeting as a visitor – that link will get you into your first meeting for half price (only £3 including VAT).
See you there?

After one incident too many, he started studying and training in NLP & hypnosis to conquer his own issues, found he was rather good at it, and changed careers (aided by redundancy at just the right moment after 20 years in IT). He helps people transform their deepest fears into their greatest strengths, and having helped over 5,000 people across 5 continents, he is the UK’s #1 Fear Strategist.
