Me! A Judge!

I’m thrilled to announce that I have been invited to join the distinguished panel of judges for this year’s Wigan Business Awards! It’s an incredible honour to be part of this prestigious event, celebrating the innovation, resilience, and success of businesses across the North West.

The Wigan Business Awards

Returning after a four-year break, these have always been a beacon of business excellence, and this year is no exception. Organised by Nichola Howard and Jo Leigh of Launch Events North West, the awards will shine a spotlight on the brilliant businesses that have not only survived but thrived despite the challenges of recent years. With the blessing of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, the event will continue to recognise the best and brightest that Wigan has to offer.

As a judge, I’ll be working alongside an impressive group of over 30 business leaders from the region. Together, we will carefully evaluate the incredible finalists who were shortlisted after a rigorous independent review throughout the summer. These awards have attracted over 500 nominations, a testament to the thriving entrepreneurial spirit in our community, and narrowing it down will be no easy task!

Being asked to contribute to the judging process is a privilege. As a business owner myself, I understand the passion and dedication it takes to build something meaningful. I’ve seen first-hand the impact that supportive networks of like-minded businesspeople can have. It will be inspiring to hear the stories behind these companies and celebrate their achievements on November 8th at The Edge in Wigan.

Nichola Howard, one of the organisers, has emphasised the importance of independent judging, ensuring that the awards are fair and impartial. I’m looking forward to working with my fellow judges to select the winners, and I can’t wait to meet the finalists in person.

These awards are about more than just business success – they’re a celebration of the journey, the challenges overcome, and the passion driving each company forward. It’s going to be a fantastic night, and I’m excited to be part of it!
