Really Feeling…
Think about it. When someone asks you how you are feeling, what’s your reponse?
Chances are, like most of us, you instinctively reply “I’m fine” or something similar. Regardless of how you are actually feeling.
It’s just what we do. It’s how we have been conditioned to respond by society – it’s all part of the social niceties of small-talk.
Unfortunately, so conditioned are we that if we asked ourselves how we were feeling, chances are we’d instinctively tell ourself that we feel fine, without giving a thought to how we are actually feeling.
And it doesn’t have to be that we are feeling bad or down – we might be feeling really happy or positive or successful or optimistic – indeed, more of the time we probably are – but if we can’t even acknowledge that in ourself…
So for this meditation, let’s give ourselves a chance to explore how we are really feeling.
